On March 6, 2025, the Advertising Photography Workshop was successfully held at Lac Hong Studio, bringing together lecturers and students from the fields of Multimedia Communication, E-commerce, and Public Relations. More than just a class, this was a hands-on journey that helped students master the camera, push creative boundaries, and hone professional photography skills.
How Was the Workshop Organized?
The event was conducted in a hybrid format, both in-person at Lac Hong Studio and live-streamed online, allowing a wider audience of students and those interested in the field to participate.
Students were not only guided by experienced lecturers but also had the chance to practice directly at the studio. They used professional cameras and experienced various roles, from handling the camera and setting angles to arranging lighting, modeling, and building the photo concept in a professional studio environment.
“Creating Trends” – Proactive Creative Thinking Instead of Following Trends
With the slogan "Create trends, don't follow them," the workshop aimed to:
✔ Provide a professional foundation in advertising photography that students can immediately apply in practice.
✔ Foster creative thinking in commercial photography, moving beyond merely imitating existing trends to creating new ones.
✔ Offer hands-on practice with a professional model, from setting up scenes and lighting to choosing the best shooting angles.
✔ Promote teamwork in a creative environment, connecting students from multiple majors to simulate a real-world advertising production process.
The Value Gained – Learning from Practice, Mastering Creativity
Hands-on practice: Students didn't just listen to theory; they got to handle the camera, set lighting, and take advertising photos right at the studio.
Teamwork experience: Students from various majors collaborated on planning, organizing, content production, and post-production, simulating a real work environment.
Creative orientation: Students learned not just how to take photos but also how to create trends in the advertising field instead of just following existing styles.
Networking & development opportunities: This was a chance for students to interact and learn from lecturers and peers who share the same passion, thereby expanding their professional network in the media and marketing industry.
Students Proactively Organized – Real Learning, Real Work
A special feature of this workshop was that all aspects of event organization, content production, live-streaming, and post-production were carried out by the Multimedia Communication students themselves, under the guidance of lecturers. This made the workshop not just a learning session but also a professional practice opportunity, giving students real-world experience before entering the job market.
