[FAIE: Economic Law] Thematic Session “Career Orientation in Notary Practice”

Notary is an important activity in establishing the legal validity of documents, and notaries play a crucial role in verifying the legal authenticity of documents and contributing to enhancing the legal value of established documents. In order to equip skills, knowledge, and valuable experience about the profession of Notary Public.

On 27 March 2024 at Room A301, Campus 1 of Lạc Hồng University, the Faculty of Administration International Economics organized a thematic session titled “Career Orientation in Notary Practice”. The program welcomed the participation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Van – Chairwoman of the Notaries Association of Dong Nai Province. This is an annual activity of the major aimed at helping students gain a more comprehensive view in order to approach practical skills, connect theoretical learning with practice, and help students orient their career paths.

This served as a foundation for students to thrive in the current environment of notary practice.

The program was honored to welcome:

• PhD. Nguyen Van Tan – Head of  the Faculty of Administration International Economics ;

• MB Ta Thi Thanh Huong – Vice Head of the Faculty of Administration International Economics;

• MB Huynh Thi Nhu Hieu – Head of the Commercial Law Department;

• MB Vu Thi Thanh Huyen – Head of the Finance – Banking Law Department;

Along with distinguished faculty representatives from QT-KTQT. The session also attracted nearly 100 students majoring in Economic Law.

Notary is a special legal service that plays a role in ensuring legal safety for parties involved in contracts and transactions; preventing disputes; protecting the legitimate rights and interests of individuals and organizations; contributing to legal-social stability and economic development; ensuring truthfulness, legality, and correctness of contracts and transactions, in accordance with social ethical standards while certifying the content and form of contracts and transactions.

Notaries play an important role in authenticating legal documents and helping protect the interests of involved parties. With deep experience and understanding of the notary field, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Van shared about the procedures and necessary requirements to become a notary, as well as other essential knowledge, skills, and conditions needed to practice. Accompanying Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Van was Ms. Vo Thuy Anh Duong – an alumna from Class 18, who is currently working at a Notary Office. This is real evidence showing that opportunities in the notary profession remain very open for students of Lạc Hồng University.

Ms. Van also explained the duties and responsibilities of a notary, as well as practical aspects of this profession. In the field of notary practice, professional ethics is an extraordinarily important factor. A notary must strictly observe ethical principles and be both conscientious and fair in all professional activities. Reliability and responsibility are essential qualities to build trust with clients and related parties.

Effort in study and daily updating of legal knowledge is indispensable for a notary. Understanding the law and know-how to apply it in practice are decisive factors for effective work. Meanwhile, career orientation and further study in the notary field help enhance competitiveness when seeking employment after graduation.

The session attracted the attention of many students majoring in Economic Law. Students had the opportunity to better understand the notary profession, thereby determining their career direction. This also provided an opportunity for students to connect theoretical learning with practice while improving their skills and knowledge.
